G-STIC 2018 Brussels 28-30 November: Opening doors to new development and growth opportunities

G-STIC aims to catalyse a new sustainable development paradigm: working across sectors and industries, and thinking outside the (policy) box. G-STIC stands for a bold approach using integrated technological solutions to overhaul production and consumption processes and to open doors to new development and growth opportunities.

G-STIC 2018 is therefore an event not to be missed. It is the place to actively participate in the definition and deployment of the technologies of the future.

Above all, the G-STIC 2018 Industry Night on November 29 provides a unique opportunity to engage with the growing G-STIC community and enrich your business network. Read this newsletter to learn more about this exciting evening
Get inspired by the SDGs
To advance the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and realise maximum resource productivity, a transition to a new industry framework is vital; an industry framework that is based on a circular economy approach and that is enabled by smart manufacturing and ICT technologies.

Several Industry Night presentations will explore this in detail, focusing on opportunities for new materials in a sustainable economy and on technological innovation to turn CO2 into a valuable resource.
Enrich your business network
The Industry Night is the perfect place to meet and interact with influential individuals, policy makers, investors, business and industry captains, and provides ample networking opportunities during the walking dinner that is organised in the G-STIC Main Networking Area.

Enjoy a live performance of Scala
During the Industry Night, the Belgian indie-rock choir Scala (directed by the Kolacny brothers) will give a memorable performance. Scala's music is known worldwide from stealing the scene in the trailer of the Oscar-nominated Hollywood film ‘The Social Network' or in ‘Montage of Heck,' the famous documentary about Kurt Cobain. Scala’s music has also been used in popular TV series such as ‘Downton Abbey,' ‘Homeland' and ‘The Simpsons.'
And there is more…
In parallel with the Industry Night presentations, 2 G-STIC partner events will be organised:
  • In an interactive roundtable setting, a mixture of Belgian and international companies will discuss how they include Energy-related SDGs in their strategy and activities.
During an event on Flemish Best Practices, delegates from several universities will testify on the implementation of sustainability in higher education. At the end of this event, SDSN Belgium will officially be launched.
