Interesting stakeholder initiatives to support the Sustainable Development Goals – issue 1

Over the coming months I will share some interesting stakeholder   initiatives  in support of the Sustainable Development Goals – Issue 1 will look at an initiative  from the following stakeholders: Foundations Local Government Industry NGO  initiative Education  Initiative FOUNDATIONS (taken from the SDGFunders web site) SDGFunders.org is a great platform to see what foundation is funding which goal or target and where they are funding them. This has resulted in the development in some contries of foundation platform.  SD Gfunders.org aims to make data on philanthropic investments more accessible while enabling data to track progress and tell stories about effective collaboration. Showcasing stories that illustrate people and organizations working to build a better world and realize the Sustainable Development Goals is at the heart of the SDG Film Festival The event, to be held outdoors on the North Lawn of UN Headquarters on the evening of 11 July, is the culmination of a global contest asking for short film submissions showing action on the 17 global goals. Nearly 1,000 films were submitted during an open call this spring, and six winning filmmakers from Brazil, Italy, Kenya, the Philippines, Portugal, and Trinidad and Tobago will present their short films to the public on the sidelines of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. 22 May, 2018 Dear SAICM Secretariat, We, the undersigned organizations, express our concern with the joint International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) – UNEP study entitled “Knowledge management and information sharing for the sound management of chemicals.” The study was sent to us as SAICM stakeholders for comments to “inform the study.” Our comments cover three areas: 1) important issues that are not part of the study; 2) issues that should be included in the study; and 3) concerns over UNEP’s private sector engagement.
