Video and Power Point material from the Webinar for new delegates Preparation for November Belem Climate Conference COP30
On the 29th of October, Felix Dodds, an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina Water Institute and a Stakeholder Forum Fellow, and Jamie Cummings, Woodwell Climate Research Center, and a Stakeholder Forum Associate did a webinar for first-time delegates to a Climate COP. We do this before the preparatory meeting in June in Bonn and before each COP in November or December. It's our hope that it helps orient those who will be more effective once they arrive.
Charles Nouhan from the Stakeholder Forum moderated the event
We covered in the webinar the following:
- History of climate change
- How the UNFCCC prepares
- COP29 Outcomes and Legacies
- Why attend– stakeholder engagement case study of a campaign and YOUNGO
- Negotiating Groups and key people
- COP 30 - Presidential team
- UNFCCC Outcomes from Bonn preparatory sessions 2025
- COP 30 – What are the issues?
- COP 30 – Logistics as we know it - including the Blue and Green Zones
- Beyond the Negotiations
- Resources available and dates for 2025 and 2026
